The Walking Dead will be back for the second half of Season 4 on February 9, 2014.
Coming soon:
The Following - Due back in January 19 & 20, 2014 - a 2 night premiere!  This has actually changed to 1/19/14 and then the second episode will air the following week (instead of the next night).  That it to make room for the Season 1 finale of Sleepy Hollow.

And finally, my comments:

  • The Originals -
  • Vampire Diaries -
  • Nashville
  • The Goldberg's -
  • Revolution -  I didn't have a new episode.
  • Arrow
  • Michael J. Fox - I didn't get a new episode of this, either.

  • The Carrie Diaries
  • Grimm -  What a spooky little demon kid!  Gadzooks!  It's nice that Juliette
is able to help Nick with his crime solving now.
  • Revenge
  • 2 Broke Girls
  • The Blacklist -
  • Hart of Dixie
  • Mike & Molly -

Entering the last year of the series - How I Met Your Mother (ends May/June 2014)
Duck Dynasty's season finale was Tuesday October 22nd

Coming soon:

The Following - Due back in January 2014
Mike & Molly - November 4th

And finally, my comments:
  • Sleepy Hollow -  Off for few weeks (I'm missing it.  Monday was not the same!).  Back this coming Monday, though.
  • Bones - I have decided to let these epi's pile up on my DVR since I am on the fence about this show.  During last year's winter hiatus I watched them all and that was a fun treat.
  • Boardwalk Empire -  An OK episode.  I like The Medium (Patricia Arquette) on this show as she gives Nucky a run for his money (& his booze).
  • The Originals - Haley's unborn baby healed her?  Nice.
  • 2 Broke Girls -  SO FUNNY!  Caroline and her sheets and her hair extensions and Max in the clothing donation box - so funny!
  • Vampire Diaries -  Stefan has amnesia?  Snooze.  Tyler is finally back and everyone knows Bonnie is dead.  Double & triple snooze respectively.  I do want to see if Caroline continues to hook up with her new friend once he is a vampire.
  • Hostages -  On DVR
  • The Blacklist -   2 episodes on DVR
  • Revolution - the gang is back together!  And, Monroe started a war.
  • Nashville -  Hmmmm, things are heating up!  I can't wait to see what happens with the Dad and his arrest.
  • Michael J. Fox - Why is the youngest son living in the older son's room?  Does anyone know?  Maybe we missed the back story.  It didn't look like little kid's furniture to me so it seems like the youngest son has all of the older son's furniture and whatnot.  I know they don't want him to be a college drop-out who gets too comfy at home but the toddler bed is extreme to me.
  • Sons of Anarchy - How handy that the guys can snack on candy and ice cream right before their meetings!  Tarra did not have a real miscarriage, right?  So, the doctors and nurses know that she is still PG because they have medical equipment.  That whole segment of the show hurt my head.  But, I completely understand why she wants to torture Gemma a bit.
  • Drop Dead Diva -  I just read that this was renewed!  Yay!!  A shot in your G-Spot, huh?  Well, they do keep it interesting.  Deb/Jane has Deb's mom's blessing to be with Grayson!  Wow!
  • Hart of Dixie - cute.  I'm still rooting for Lemon to find someone.
  • Witches of East End - Good!  I like this show and want to see more.
  • The Walking Dead - So, what was that huge building off in front in the car/zombie extreme hoard?  Was it just a stadium or something else?  I hope that the gang can get some meds for all of the sickies asap!  The cast is really being decimated week by week.  I wonder if Beth will be the next to lose it (yes, Tyrese I'm talking to you!) after being locked up with Judith alone for all this time?  And, Carl's got his gun and his hat back.  I would say all is right with the Apocalypse then.  OMG Carol!!  Boy, has she transformed, or what?
  • Homeland - DVR issue - I should have it on the DVR soon.
  • Arrow - Good!  I want to see more of Oliver & Felicity.
  • American Horror Story: Coven - Kyle& his mother? Ick!  I want to see more of Kathy Bates' story.  Do we think that blonde is dead DEAD? Or, will she be back next week.
  • The Tomorrow People - on DVR.
  • Revenge -  Better.  I hope to see more of Emily's original plans in the coming episode.
  • Giuliana & Bill -  on DVR.
  • Keeping Up With The Kardashian's - gasp!  They sure are excitable!  It was fun to see all of the backstory around baby North's birth.
  • Dracula - So we finally got to see the premiere and I was bored!  I liked the light bulbs and that was it.  I will give it another try because I was so looking forward to this show.
  • The Carrie Diaries - So cute!  I was pleasantly surprised that this show got a second season.  I was worried about it.  I can't believe that the Carrie purse is gone!  I was hoping it might somehow resurface for Carrie to reclaim.  But, I think when we saw it stroll across the street when Sam&Carrie were walking down the sidewalk at the end, that was it!
  • Grimm - I love The Walking Dead but was not looking forward to seeing Nick as a Zombie, at all.

Shows that may not make the cut:
  •  HIMYM - I am also going to save this on my DVR until the winter TV break.  (Bones is receiving the same treatment, again).
  •  I need to slash some shows after the October 25th premieres!  Which shows   are going to take the cut?  MJF, Blacklist or Hostages or other?

 Other Info:

Entering the last year of the series - How I Met Your Mother (ends May/June 2014)
Duck Dynasty's season finale was Tuesday October 22nd

Coming soon:

Mike & Molly - I saw a TV commercial and the premiere is Monday November 4th
Dracula - Friday October 25th
The Carrie Diaries - Friday October 25th - (FRIDAY - uh-oh!)
Grimm - Friday October 25th - (Friday was OK for Grimm last year, so here's hoping!)
(OK, so...maybe Fridays will be the new hot TV night again like they were back when I was 12 in 1988).

And finally, my comments.  I just realized that because I had some many shows on my DVR, you are getting 2 weeks of comments on a bunch of shows:
  • Boardwalk Empire - We finally saw Nucky & Margaret get together.  That was anti-climatic though.  Is he going to try and win her back?  Is he going to actually work for it?  Or, I guess that The Medium (Patricia Arquette) might be keeping him too occupied for him to miss Margaret enough to chase her.
  • Sleepy Hollow - no Sleepy Hollow for a few weeks (I'm missing it.  Monday was not the same!).
  • Bones - I have decided to let these epis pile up on my DVR since I am on the fence about this show.  During last year's winter hiatus I watched them all and that was a fun treat.
  • 2 Broke Girls - How could you not love these two girls?  And, their supporting cast.  It is so hard for me to recommend a 30 minute sitcom but I fully recommend this one!
  • Vampire Diaries - A road trip with human Catherine, Damon and Elena?  OK, I'll tag along if only for the snark.  I like Tessa (or maybe I am just partial to the name) and hope that she sticks around for a while.  I am bored with whatever is happening with Matt.  I like Stephan's stories so far.
  • Duck Dynasty -  We already have a Silverado truck.  I didn't need the commercial, thanks tho A&E.
  • Hostages -  I like this show and think it's an interesting twist on peril/drama in a one hour show.  If it's just a 1 season arc that is also fine with me!  I still have the most recent episode on the DVR.
  • The Blacklist -  I like this show but I am not fanatical about it.  I have a few FB people who really like this show.   I still have the most recent episode on the DVR.
  • The Goldberg's - Not the best epi so far but still had some funny moments.  I forgot all about scrambled cable TV channels, haha!  Our HBO and other movie channels used to come thru all squiggly like that.
  • Revolution -  Still enjoying this show!  I am so sad for Rachel, in that her old friend turned out to be a murdering psycho.  That was a bummer.  I am ready for the crew to be reunited.  It looks like it will be next week.
  • Nashville - Ok I probably sound like a complainer with my Nashville hate but Connie B has such talent!  That weirdo graveside scene.  Really?  That horrible photo shoot with Scarlet.  It was so fake and weird.  I felt like I was watching a soap opera at 3pm instead of prime time TV.  But then, amazingly, it got better!  I even enjoyed the teenager drama.  I can't wait to see her connect with Deacon and have them work out their relationship.
  • Michael J. Fox - Funny.  But, I seldom stick with 30 minute sitcoms...
  • Sons of Anarchy -   Started off really interesting.  I was happy to see Bobby and so happy the former investigator is finally being investigated and happy they checked out his hotel room.  But then, it became so boring.  Might be time to go back to 60 minute epis and give the 90 minute epis a break.
  • Drop Dead Diva -  gasp!  Stacey & Owen.  Yup, I will continue to turn in!
  • Hart of Dixie -  cute!  I want Lemon to find someone.
  • Witches of East End -  I thought this 2nd epi was a good, story packed episode.  I like the characters and just figured out that one of the brunettes is Channing Tatum's wife.  We had to IMDB the other sister to see who she is.  I am pretty sure that I remember her from American Dreams (as Beth).  That show ended quite a while ago, but, none of her other listings looked familiar to me.
  • The Walking Dead -  Who is feeding those rats to the Walkers?  I don't think it's the kid.  I think it's an adult.
  • Homeland - glad to see what Brody has been up to.  But, I feel like I am watching a different show.  Need Carrie to get some freedom!
  • Arrow - I actually like Thea's BF as the Super-hero wanna be.  Too bad she gave him the boot.  I am a little bored with the season-long plot arc but I do enjoy this show.  When is "The Hood" going away and "The Arrow" coming out to play?  Ohhh... that was a great ending with The Hood surrounded by the coppers!
  • American Horror Story: Coven: I had a DVR issue and did not get the 2nd epi!!  Going to try and track this down.  FX repeats it a few times the night is airs but not on any subsequent days.  This is a problem for people like me who wouldn't notice that they didn't get the show on their DVR until the next night!
  • The Tomorrow People - This show appeals to me but I'm not sure if it's going to make the cut.
  • Revenge - Hmmm so much to see this season.  Me & Charlotte shared the same favorite moment - when Victoria got a J-O-B.
  • Giuliana & Bill - so happy to see this show airing on E now because we missed 5 or 6 epis when it aired a few months ago on Style network.  It is one of my favs so I am so happy to see it on again and we can catch up.
  • Keeping Up With The Kardashians - I haven't said too much about this show this season.  I really enjoy watching this family.  I totally get why Bruce would want to divorce Kris but, I still feel bad for her and want them to stick it out!  I was really suspicious of the Malibu beach house so I am glad that we now know the real reason behind the separate abode.  I was also sad for Khloe & Lamar.  I liked their whirlwind romance story and hoped they would make it.  But, I think Lamar's drinking has been out of control for a while.  Who knows what else the issues are, but, the drinking was obvious.

Shows that may not make the cut:
  • Nashville -  OK, I am loving my hating on the season, who am I kidding?
  •  HIMYM - I am also going to save this on my DVR until the winter TV break.
  •  I need to slash some shows after October 25th when 3 more shows premiere!  Which shows   are going to take the cut?

Does anyone else have this issue:  Too many shows on Sunday and Monday.  I have a ton of shows from these 2 nights.  Luckily as the week progresses, I have less and less in the way of shows, so, I have a chance to catch up.

Other Info:

Hell on Wheels  - season ended (Sat 10/5)
Entering the last year of the series - How I Met Your Mother (ends May/June 2014)

And finally, my comments:
  • Boardwalk Empire - still on DVR
  • Sleepy Hollow -  am so loving this show!  I liked the plague epi and really like the team work between Abby & Ichabod.  There won't be a new epi until November 4th - 3 weeks away - boohoo!!
  • 2 Broke Girls -  so funny - got to watch out for the steam with those cappuccino machines!
  • Vampire Diaries -  Elena left college?  I hope she goes back soon because we have already seen enough of Mystic Falls.  I thought there were going to be college characters and new story lines.
  • Duck Dynasty - now I want some jerky!
  • Hostages -   still on DVR
  • The Blacklist -  still on DVR
  • The Goldberg's - I agree Poltergeist IS too scary!  Still really liking this comedy (for me, that is saying a LOT ).  My h likes it too, which is nice.
  • Revolution -  a good show that I enjoy but, after the Aaron shocker it's been quiet.
  • Nashville -  not sure this is cutting its-ville
  • Michael J. Fox -  funny enough to live another week
  • Sons of Anarchy -  still on DVR
  • Drop Dead Diva - still on DVR
  • Hart of Dixie -  still on DVR
  • Witches of East End -  still on DVR
  • The Walking Dead - so excited that this is back!  It was a slow build kind of epi.  Loved that they left us with a big shocker and we know there will be a lot of action next week with a walker in the cell block!  Did you recognize Patrick from Everybody Hates Chris?  He looks exactly the same + 5 years, to me anyway!
  • Arrow - Arrow was the surprise hit of the Fall TV Season last year!  I enjoyed epi #1 and hope that this show has a great sophomore run.
  • American Horror Story: Coven:  I really enjoyed this epi!  I love seeing some of the actors from Season 1 and Season 2 in their new roles!  This show is so much fun and there are so many amazing actors.  This year they have Kathy Bates and Angela Basset and others, too.  I can't wait to see what happens.
  • The Tomorrow People - I gave this a chance because some of the TV columnists I follow gave it such great reviews.  I was at about an 80% chance of dumping it.  But, I did really like the last 2 minutes and the way it ended so it lives on my DVR for another week!

Shows that may not make the cut:
  • The Crazy Ones  - deleted
  • Nashville - last season was SO good that  guess a sophomore slump is inevitable!
  • The Originals - safe: it turns out that there is enough going on to keep me interested.
  • HIMYM - seriously, I don't even want to watch this show but, since I have invested and watched SO many seasons I feel like I need to stick with it even though it's painful to watch!!

  • I will update this in a couple of weeks because there are still more premieres in October
  • What will I be giving up?  2 shows have series finales which really helps with my TV viewing
  • Will my husband read this and have actual PROOF of my TV addiction?

TV Update - Thursday September 19, 2013

One of my favorite TV columns does a weekly TV post with snip-its of the past week's TV show's gossip and questions.  Since I really like that format I will try my own version here.

I am really enjoying Ray Donovan.  I find myself choosing it first when I look through my DVR'd shows.  Before this show started there were a lot of people saying it was just like the Soprano's.  It does have a lot of parallels and may not be an original idea but it does keep me watching!  I like the dynamics between the brothers and the half-brother.  I like how we are learning how the wife was communicating with the Dad while he was in prison.  I do not like the Boston accents.  Hopefully we see more of the Dad's ex- girlfriend/baby Mama and more of Ray's assistant.  She has quite the story, I bet.

AGT (America's Got Talent) is another favorite.  I never watched this show before Howard Stern came onboard as a judge.  I didn't abstain because I thought I wouldn't like it; quite the opposite is true.  I just had too many shows in the mix.  My husband is a big Howard Stern fan and he wanted to give it a shot last season.  I am so happy with the winner of this season!  The final 2 were actually my 2 favorites, too.  I won't spoil who won yet since it has been less than 24 hours since the live finale.

The premier of Sleepy Hollow was finally on TV.  I will definitely keep watching for now.  It gave off a Grimm vibe which surprised me, in a good way.  I like Grimm and I am pleasantly surprised that it keeps getting renewed.  I hope that Sleepy Hollow gets to air at least 5 or 6 epis before a decision is made.

I am looking forward to some of next week's premieres and will check back in with you all to see what you are watching.

TV Recap - Keeping Up With The Kardashians - October 17, 2010

I have a lot to say about this week's Keeping Up With The Kardashians.  So, do we really believe that Scott has maintained these positive changes that everyone keeps talking about?  For Kourtnay and Mason's sake, I really hope so.  I did feel the tiniest bit bad for Scott when he got left out of everything fun and had to stalk and beg Bruce to hang out.  Scott&Bruce were really cute when they hand hugged!  I also thought that the suit bonding was really nice.  I couldn't help but think of Barney on How I Met Your Mother and "Suit Up"!

Kim is dating someone new!  I'm excited as it seems like she really needs to just move on and stop going back and forth with Reggie.  Of course, next week's Season Finale teasers make it look like Reggie ends up back in the picture.  Poor Kim, I hope that she can just say no to Reggie!  She can call me and I will talk her thru how she needs to resist the drama.

Dash - a new one in NYC?  Close the CA store?  I think that the store(s) really takes the back seat and I think that opening a NYC would be a mistake.  Close the CA store.  These girls have way too much going on now to worry about retail.  I was actually shocked that the business managers thought that the NYC store was a fantastic idea.  Kourtnay always ends up working on the stores and she gets upset with her sisters who don't devote as much time.  Of course they can't devote that kind of time.  Kim has a busy career and Khloe is married.  I agree with Khloe who asked what the rush was.  I think that they should skip it all!  Is the Miami store even open?  They didn't mention it.

TV Recap - Boardwalk Empire - October 3, 2010

from: premiumhollywood.com
Amazing that Jimmy & Al's 5th victim is still alive.  How crazy was it when the police-chief-brother tried to kill him, even with his roommate in the room!  I'm glad that the police-chief-brother wasn't able to kill him.  But, he did die in the end.  TG he died after the FBI-IRS guy was poking his fingers into his wounds.  BLECK.  I hate scenes like that.

So, is the funeral home back in the alcohol business?  It seemed like a horse-drawn hearse that pulled in, filled with alcohol.  What is that character's name?  I think they said Chuck.  Let's go with that.  It seemed like Chuck took over the operation now that they guy who changed his name got busted.

I'm really excited about Mrs. Shroeder's job at the French Boutique at the Ritz Carlton.  (Btw, I just figured out that I have been spelling her name wrong).  The shop mistresses is a pill but fun to watch.  "When did you last bathe?".  How crazy was it when Mrs. Shroeder had to wait on and dress Nucky's ho?  She really earns her title, that one.

Yikes - NYC's mobster guy sure got some bad karma when he was treated for gonorrhea.  I bet that the men watching this scene were cringing.  I don't like this mobster guy - at all.  How crazy was it that they doc was smoking a cigarette during the procedure.  So typical that Mr. Mobster wouldn't let the doc write down his issues.

So, what is the big secret between Jimmy's Mom (Jillian) and Nucky?  What's the agreement - to keep Jimmy out of trouble - but why is Nucky on the hook?  Is Nucky his bio-Dad?  Is Nucky his brother (the only reason I wondered was when Nucky's brother (the police chief) asks if Nucky would be as understanding of him)?  How long until we find out?  Stuff like this will keep me interested.  I love a good back story.

OK, I missed this the first time thru - Mr. Name Change (who used to run the alcohol from the funeral home) gets told by NYC to take care of the issue (now that Nucky put them out of business) and that is why he kills the man and hangs him.  They shoot him because they are going to use the cover-up story that it was a jealous husband who shot him.

Why wasn't the head FBI-IRS guy more interested in Jimmy being one of the shooters?  He says he has to speak with the US Attorney's office, but, I can't help but think that he is up to something...

Jimmy - Jimmy - Jimmy!  What a freaking royal melt-down: you don't like the vacuum, your shoulders are bare, did you sleep with the photographer, let me grab my gun from atop the hutch, and you didn't seem to mind the last time I left!  Sheeesh, buddy, really?  I was curious about how/when we would see Al Capone again what with him being in Chicago and all.  Now, we know.  I'm still upset that Jimmy left his family, though.  Why not just bring them with him to Chicago.  Or, someplace else, start fresh.

Finally - I'm liking this show and hoping for some more good stuff!  Boardwalk Empire, you got a DVR Removal stay-of-execution, at least for another 2 weeks!

TV Recap - Brothers and Sisters- October 3, 2010

I'm so happy that this show is back on!  I'm happy when I see it on the DVR.

So, what do we have to talk about?  Paige gets rocked with her bad girl friend at Luca's party.  Sara learns that she can't be her daughter's BFF and her Mom.  I was really happy when Sara told Paige that she wanted to be the kind of Mom that Nora was, awwwwww!  It's nice that those Walker kids know how good they had it.  Loved Nora's bust-out at the end, yelling at each of her kids.  She was spot on!  She would be hilarious on a radio show, and I really hope that she does it.

Is it me or is Luca really smokin' hot this season? I don't think that he looked this good last May.

Kitty decides that Nora is having a secret affair, tells the troops and then decides that Nora is a lesbian.  Funny.  Typical.  The boys had strong reactions to Nora's supposed switch-er-oo.  They set it up badly, IMO, because we all knew that she was a florist's assistant from last week.

So happy that Kitty is getting a new house and that she will be closer to the rest of the fam.

I was really wondering where we were going with this Mateo storyline.  I thought that maybe Kevin&Scotty would foster him or something.  It was great to see him reunited with his grandmother.

I thought that this Holly storyline would be funny!  Instead they want us to feel for poor, amnesiac Holly.  I agree with Justin, where is Rebecca?  And, where is Saul?  Does ABC really not have enough of a budget to allow Saul in each week's episode?

TV Recap - Keeping Up With The Kardashians - October 3, 2010

Quite the opening scene on this week's Keeping Up With the Kardashians!  Kim and Kris were discussing the size of Scott.  Oh my.  TG it was a quick scene.

Bruce was so cute when he thought that Kylie was dating.  I think that Kylie taking a car service to Khloe's house was a bit much.  I was impressed that Khloe cared so much.  My kid would be in big, BIG trouble if they left the house like that tho.  That kid is 12?

Lube.  Enough said.  I know this show is racy but that was TMI for me.  Having siblings close in age is really important to Kourtnay, but, is she thinking about how hard it is going to be if Scott isn't by her side helping?  I am amazed that her sisters and mother don't have more to say about her baby plan.  Perhaps they are keeping mum so that Kourtnay won't run off to NYC?

TV Recap - No Ordinary Family - September 28, 2010

from: abc's website

Wow, good to see some fav actors on No Ordinary Family including Rita from Dexter, Kyle XY's Dad, Conrad from Weeds, Lizzie Grant from Entourage and Vic from The Shield.  I haven't blogged about new Fall TV too much this year, but with the week winding down I decided to watch No Ordinary Family and give you all my opinion.

Hmmmm, I am really not sure about this show.  Didn't they see Heroes?  I was expecting something at least as good as Season 1 of Heroes.  The way in which the family got their powers really wasn't that impressive.  Although, I must say, I am happy that they told each other about their powers quickly.  If this show is still on, I will watch the 2nd episode.  But, my prediction is that this will be the 2nd show to get canceled this fall (Lone Star was already canceled).

TV Recap - Gossip Girl - September 27, 2010

I just love a secret society!   Gossip Girl doesn't disappoint with it comes to societies.  Hamilton House is the new place to be.  I'm so happy that Serena and Blair put their friendship first.  Maybe they will lave all that catty competition behind!  Juliet is in for it now that Serena's in the club and Lilly is in the know.

Whoa, Dan was the most exciting part of the epi?  Not Dan's baby, WOOT!  Dan should thank his lucky stars that he no longer has to have Geogina Sparks in his life.  Too bad about little Milo, though.  And, Dan and Vanessa are back together and are now live-in-lovers?  Did not expect that to happen so soon into the season.

Still not too invested in Chuck & Eva.  I saw from the previews that there is some excitement with them next week.  It will take a great storyline to hook me.

How cute was Chuck with Lilly?  Even though he is awful, I still like this relationship.  Chuck betta watch out for Papa Humphrey.

Blair and Doroda were so cute when they showed Serena her bedroom!

So happy that Nate isn't letting Serena off easy this time.  She usually bats her eyes at him and he forgives her.  But, she did cheat on him, so she deserves some time on the freeze.

Questions:
Is Juliet poor or not?  She left the tags on her clothes in an earlier epi.  But, she's in the Hamilton House and is the Key Master.  Wouldn't those girls have noticed her clothing issues?  Or, does she borrow everyone's clothes?  Maybe that's why she was joking to Blair about borrowing her clothes?

Who is her jailbird bf?  Do we know who he is?  He looks familiar but, I do watch a lot of TV, so I could just recognize him from another show.

When is Little J coming back?  Why doesn't Eric get more screen time?

TV Recap - Boardwalk Empire - September 26, 2010

from: NYDailyNews

Alright HBO, I need you to grab me and pull me into Boardwalk Empire ASAP or I am going to have to move on.  After all, I always have Veronica Mars on DVD to keep me entertained.  I want to like Boardwalk Empire.  I like the period, the setting, the subject and I like Nucky.  But, I need more.  I've heard that this show has a slow build and that it will payoff.  But, I need some payoff now!

So what did we learn?
Jimmy's family celebrates Christmas late, due to cash.
Jimmy's Mom is a cabaret dancer and Jimmy isn't much of a writer.
Nucky wants $3,000 from Jimmy to square up the incident.
The FBI-IRS guy is on the hunt.
Nucky thinks that only 4 people were killed during the incident but Jimmy says 5.  Dead guy #5 is who we see way at the very end when a guy comes out of the woods and goes up to the handjob car.
Jimmy no longer drives for Nucky.
Al Capone doesn't like reporters - at all.
Nucky and NYC are on the outs.
Al Capone doesn't Western Union his friends cash.

Mrs. Shroder didn't give any info up to FBI-IRS but she also gave Nucky his money back.

My Questions:
What is the Commander's official title? If Nucky is the Treasurer, what is he?
Is he losing it?  What was all that jazz with Luanne, his maid?

Is Mrs. Shroder upset that her husband is dead?  Is she plotting a way to get Nucky?  She looked quite disappointed when her visitor at the hospital was Nucky's brother, and not Nucky.

How much longer must we put up with Nucky's girlfriend?  She is awful.  When she speaks, I wish that I had hit the mute button.

Jimmy received an Honorable Discharge, right?

TV Recap - Brothers and Sisters- September 27, 2010

What a year those Walkers have had on Brothers & Sisters.  I had no idea that we were jumping ahead in the story line by 1 calendar year (until about 2 weeks ago).  I LOVE this idea!  Everyone now knows that Saul is HIV +.  They have all had a chance to digest the accident.  Robert is in a coma and Holly has memory loss.  Justin is back from his year in the war, Rebecca is still angry with him for leaving.  Luka is a model and a HOT one at that.  I am so happy to see Sara and Luka in a nice relationship.  I really like those 2 together.  I knew that when he left last season that he would be back to stay.  I hope that Rebecca shows up to speak to Justin in person.  I really wish that she was going to stay on the show.  Does anyone know what happened?  Was it her choice to leave?  Maybe it's too awkward now that her & Dave Annabelle aren't together?   They are all going to be  loaded after they get the money from the Narrow Lake sale.  Lucky ducks!! I think the Holly-has-amnesia storyline is going to be so much fun.  How great was it when she asked Nora if William knew she was here?  HAHA!  I'm glad that Kevin found a type of law to practice that he enjoys.  My favorite scene was when Kitty & Justin make up at the end.  LOVE  how Justin talks to Nora at the end of the epi, we need our nosey, bossy, controlling mother back!  That was (so true) great.  The Walker family dinner was the perfect ending to the season opener.

I have a plot question:
What happened to Scottie and Kevin's baby?  The baby dies in-utero because of a genetic abnormality?  OK, I re-watched this epi and Scottie says that they had 2 miscarriages.  It seems like Kevin blames the surrogate.  Wasn't she Scottie's friend (Michelle?)?

And, I have a storyline vent, or two:
  1. I need a Justin-drama break.  I hope they don't focus on his drama too much.  He brings on his own trouble.  He had a wife and he completly disregarded her wishes and went off to war.
  2. Please, TV powers that be, no more epis that depict Kitty dating.  Yuck.  She's too awkward to date and it's way too awkward for me to watch.  She needs to be a single mother and widow until the show ends.

TV Recap - Keeping Up With The Kardashians - September 26, 2010

from cardiogirl's blog

From last week's previews of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, I hoped that Malika and Rob were really hooking up!  I think that they would be so cute as a real couple.  It was a big tease, of course, though.  Or, was it?  LOL.  LOVED how crazy Khloe got.  Since she is always orchestrating scenerios to torture other people, it was great that the karma bus gave her a turn.

The BG5's are cute!  I think Kris Jenner really doesn't need another set of girls to manage, but, it will make for interesting TV.  I love Khloe walking on the beach in her LV heels.  If I heard "pier" I wouldn't picture walking in the sand, either.

Bruce is such a cute Grandpa with Mason!

The whole diaper story line was so silly.  Those girls are nuts - cutting Kris's leggings off?  My oh my!

PS
I was hoping to have a Sons of Anarchy Recap for you today but I still haven't seen the new epi!

TV Recap - Boardwalk Empire - September 19, 2010

Finally!  HBO got me all excited about Boardwalk Empire over the summer and I was tired of waiting.  I read on this blog that it had already been renewed for a second season, so, that cements me watching for a while at least.

OK, call me crazy but I  thought that tonight started really slowly.  I was expecting the Sopranos type action.  None of that was to be had for quite a while.  I do have to say that I liked Nucky more than I expected too.  Steve Buscemi managed to play a likable Treasurer-Gangster.

I missed the entire point of the funeral home scene the first time I watched the epi.  What was that about?   I put the show back on and zoomed to this scene.  Alright, now I see:  Mickey had to show Nucky his secret factory where he makes and bottles alcohol.  This comes into play later when Jimmy gives up the funeral home while he takes the alcohol.

How funny was it watching the FBI-IRS guys watch all the gangsters in the hotel, while they were talking on the phone?

So, Chicago brokered a deal between NYC and NJ?  Or, do I have that mixed up and NYC brokered a deal between NJ and Chicago?  It was definitely Chicago brokered a deal between NYC and NJ.  One of the gangsters (from NYC?) is a really good card counter.  He and his lackey take the casino for $93,000.  This covers the $60,000 that they would owe for the alcohol and nets them $33,000 in their pocket. I don't think this was wise move, far away from home.

How interesting to see Al Capone in 1920 before he was a big shot. Jimmy and Al join forces to make reputations for themselves.  This is that I was expecting in the action department.  Jimmy says yes to the FBI-IRS guys, gives them the funeral home.  This distracts them from what he is doing:  Jimmy&Al take out NYC's crew, grab the alcohol and hit the road.  Al takes the alcohol to Chicago and he's a hero.  Jimmy gives Nucky a nice chunk of change to get himself back on the good list.

It also caught my attention when we learned that Nucky likes Mrs. Shroder (the lady who's husband beat her ever when pg).  I'm thinking that he would like another wife.  Someone much more respectable, sweet and nice than his current 'ho.  At first, I thought that maybe the husband was just going to get a beating.  Not his lucky day, tho.  Those poor kids (and the wife) will be better off.

Jimmy and Nucky's relationship seems to be the center of the show.  I like that vibe.  A one-man-in-power show was more of what I was expecting.  I like that it's more about the relationship and I think it would be great to all see how NYC and Chicago were effected by Prohibition as well as AC.

What did you all think of The Boardwalk set?  I loved it!  They did a really great job.  The Incubator Shop was really interesting.  Talk about taking things for granted.  When Jimmy's little boy was running into the stores I we got a good glimpse of the store fronts.   The Fortune Teller Shop at the end of the episode was done well, too.  I need to brush up on my mobsters before next week (yes, I know that this isn't historically accurate).

For the future:
I wonder what the 'ho is going to do for dramz when she realizes that she is being replaced.
Who exactly is The Commodore?
Did Jimmy's dinero get him out of the hot seat with Nucky?
Does Al own up to murdering that guy?  Wait, was that Al or was that Charley (the crazy lackey for NYC)?  I am confused on this plot line!

TV Recap -The Great Food Truck Race Finale - September 19, 2010

Here it is, the final food truck episode!  I am so excited to see if Gill 'em All is going to be able to take down Nom Nom!  I would actually love to eat at Nom Nom, so, I'll still be happy if they win.  But, Nom Nom SMOKED everyone for 5 weeks!

What a cool way to shake thing up by having the trucks earn $500 in each NYC borough before they are allowed to move on.  I LOVED seeing the girll guys make a banh mi and seeing the Nom Nom's make a burger.  Congratulations to Nom Nom for their cross over burger!

Grill 'em all was very smart and used the Frenchie's restaurant connection in order to get their food supplies.  This allowed them to get a head start.  I think this was a key component of their win.  Congratulations to the Grill 'em All Guys - you surprised everyone and worked hard for your win!

Does anyone have a yummy food truck near them?  I don't mean a Mr. ShadyRoachCoach either!

All images are from the Food Network site.
