Product Review - Dawn Hand Renewal With Olay Beauty

from: my kitchen
I first saw this new Dawn dish washing soap back in the fall of 2009.  With the babies' pending arrival, I knew that I would be washing a lot more dishes.  I decided to pick up a bottle.  I LOVED this dish washing soap!

I would always buy name brand dish washing soap because I lot a lot of suds and bubbles.  I honestly didn't think that the Dawn Hand renewal with Olay Beauty would really soften my hands, but it does!  I tend to do my cooking, cleaning and laundry all at the same time.  I figure if I am home getting 1 things done I might as well squeeze it all in.  But, my hands really pay for it!  I am not going to say that I don't continue to use hand lotion, even with this fab new Dawn because I DO.  But, my hands are not nearly as bad as they once were.

Grade: solid A

Jack's First Haircut - September 21, 2010

We took Jack for his first haircut this morning!  It was needed but it was still tough to do.  I liked his long, feathered hair, LOL.  Plus, I think that he looked just like me with his long straight hair.

Here are the before shots:

We went to a special kids hair salon and he was a very good boy!  We tried to take him yesterday but the salon was closed.  I completely forgot that most hair salons close on Mondays.  They don't wet the kid's hair in a sink, they use a spray bottle.  The seats are great because they have a nice secure seat belt!  Jack got to watch a movie while they cut his hair.

Jack's After Shot (wet hair)

They leave the kid's hair wet.  I thought that was a little strange but, his hair is so short it dried quickly.  They gave us a certificate and some leftover hair, awwwwww!

And, in case you were curious here are some pics of the salon:

DIY Craft Board - UPDATE

Once upon a time I was a craft maniac.  We had a house but no children, just fur babies.  We had some time on our hands and I feel in love with a craft desk (more on that here).  I also feel in love with a craft wall organizer.  But, why pay retail, right?  My husband made a craft wall organizer back in 2008!  You can read about that here.  I used to craft in our upstairs guestroom.  A LOT has changed since 2008 and I now craft in the first floor bedroom that we call the office.  The office is where we stash guests (Aerobed), do crafts, change the babies and let them play!

I notice that the craft board/ craft wall organizer gets a lot of hits on this site so, I thought that it would be fun to show an update to where the craft board is now.

Our house looks CRAZY in these pics.  I hope that it isn't quite as crazy as it looks!  But, I have twins, LOL.  That excuse can definitely get you out of the my house is messy jam!

The upper right, middle and lower left squares are all fabric squares.  There is batting behind the fabric, so that I can use push pins.  The prints are zebra, cheeta and polka dot.

The middle right and middle left squares are magnetic squares.  They are wood squares painted with pink magnetic paint.

The top middle square is pegboard painted pink.

The bottom middle square is cork, leftover from my big cork board.

The top left and the bottom right squares are magnetic chalk board squares.  My husband painted them with both types of paint.

These new pictures show the frame that my husband put around the board.  I think that it really finishes it off.

The Vampire Diaries - September 16, 2010

from byterology.com
Not a good day to be a Carnie!  The Vampire Diaries now has Caroline the Vamp, LOVE it!  I was so confused at the end of last week, thinking that they REALLY killed Caroline.  But, of course they can't do that.  Damon's blood was in her system so she lives, as a Vampire.  How great was it when she was giving the business to Damon?  So glad that she remembers how bad he treated her.  Can she fool Matt?  Someone needs to get Caroline a ring so that she can go out in the daylight!  I hope that she sticks around, she is adding some serious drama.

So, what do we think that Tyler and his uncle turn into?  Wolves?  Another type of shapeshifter? I'm not really into this storyline.  The uncle isn't that interesting and Tyler is a pill, on a good day!  But, they did get my attention when Tyler opened the floor hidey-hole and got the rock-thingie.  What, if you hold the rock, you don't transform when there is a full moon?

I feel for Bonnie.  Her head is going to explode!   Elena and Stefan had their Ferris ride, sweet.  Can't wait for more!  I felt like there was a lot of setup in this epi, so bring on the action!!

Weekend Recap - September 19, 2010

I don't think she reads my blog, but, I should send a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my friend Shen!  She is the big 3-4, finally.  I have been waiting for her to catch up.

On Friday, the babies and I were bored.  We decided to head off to Providence for a Geocache.  I'm going to do a separate post on this that will publish soon.  We had a great time and saw a wonderful park, that we would have never found, otherwise.  Luckily, the rain didn't come back so we were able to take our time.  Then, we came home and did dinner and bedtime.  I was going to watch some more Dexter but instead I was on the computer.

Saturday we headed off to Kingston for a first birthday party.  Since we were actually on the road early (amazing, I know!) we gave my Grampa a call to see if we could stop by.  He was home, so we had a nice but, quick visit.   Quick was key because for some reason Juliette was melting down.  Her meltdown was probably due to the fact that she didn't nap in the car (1 hour trip).  We let the kiddos try out their early birthday gift, DVD players for the car.  This was not smart.  They really needed a nap instead of Baby Einstein.

We had a great time visiting with everyone at the birthday party.  The birthday boy is as cute as can be and he is about to become a big brother any day now.  His mom is a rockstar for doing this big party right before her due date!

A childhood BFF now lives next door to the birthday boy!  I had a terrific visit with her, her husband and her 11 year old daughter.  We got to see their fabulous new (to them) house.  I am sad to say that I now have Rocky Nook Envy.  I want to live down in Rocky Nook with everyone!  Unfortunately, it won't be happening but a girl can dream.

Sunday we finally made it back to church, yay!  We had a lot of out of town guests and then the babies shifted their nap to end about 10:15-10:30am.  It's really tough to make a 10:30am service when the kiddos are sleeping that late.  We did go to church late.  I hate being late for things that start on time.  After church, we stopped home so that I could change and grab some more bubbas (baby bottles).  Then we met my FIL for a BBQ.  The food was delish!  We finally got home, put the kids down for a way overdue nap.  I went to bed at 8pm last night!

TV Recap - Keeping Up With The Kardashians - September 19, 2010

from: TVClash
NY or Not?

So, I know that Keeping Up With The Kardashians is total reality TV at it's finest but I got hooked on this while I was huge and pregnant, sitting around resting and watching TV.  Now, I can't stop!

I really liked the house shopping LA or NY drama in this epi!  If Scott stays sober, then I think it would be good for the little family to give NYC a try.  But, if Kourtney has any doubts then she should stick close to her family.  They are always there for her and Mason.

How staged was the vibrator skit?  Of course, I keep watching tho!

Maybe Kim can take over for Bob Barker as the spay or neuter your animals spokesperson.  It is so important.  All 4 of our animals are spayed or neutered.  Did you hear Kim call Bruce "Scooby" when he was eating the dog cookie?  Funny!  Rocky didn't need those neuticals... only this family!

I was shocked that Khloe showed up at Scott's Family Birthday Party!  Neither her nor Scott seemed particularly pleased to be there, but those Kardashians did make the effort.  So, does anyone out there like Kourtney & Scott?  Do you think that they will move to NYC or stay on LA?
